Picasso Year 2023
Did you know that this year is the 50th anniversary of the passing of Pablo Picasso?
To commemorate this event several museums in Malaga have organised throughout the year different exhibitions about our most international artist.
The Picasso’s Birth House Museum, together with Centre Pompidou Malaga and the Collection of the Russian Museum St. Petersburg-Malaga, will host the works of artist Bernardi Roig, until the 23rd of May. This shared exhibition in these 3 museums is called “The Last Face and the Aphonia of the Minotaur” and Picasso is his main inspiration.
Besides the works of Bernadi Roig, the Collection of the Russian Museum St. Petersburg-Malaga is also hosting the exhibition “Picasso, Draftman of Words”, which includes several of his sketchbooks and the Centre Pompidou is hosting another, called “A Time of one’s own. Breaking Free from the constraints of Everyday life”, available until October 2023, with works from artists like Picasso or Matisse.
On the other hand, Picasso Museum Malaga is hosting throughout the year the exhibition “Dialogues with Picasso. Collectionn 2020 – 2023”, which includes 162 works by Picasso.
This Museum, from the 8th of May to the 10th September, will also have an sculpture exhibition called “Picasso. Matter and Body”, and from the 1st October 2023 to the 24th March 2024 another called “The echoes of Picasso".
If you are passionate about Picasso and his works and you are planning to stay at Hotel Yaramar, your hotel in Fuengirola, we certainly recommend you visit Malaga city to have a tour around all the above-mentioned museums.
Enjoy art in the capital of the Costa del Sol!
